Born On Sunday, Couldn't Wait Till Monday

Al Shelton is an artist, musician, cowboy, father, and friend to many.

Met him months ago, and recently went back to his gallery/studio/living space to check in with him.

One of the more eventful hours I can remember.

Al played and sang some of his favorite songs, like “Blue Spanish Eyes” and “Mona Lisa.” They sounded broken, but beautiful.

Everyone’s got a story to tell. Everybody’s got something to learn. Don’t be afraid to talk to people. ‘09 is feeling real good.

SING YR F’N HEART OUT!

Last month, my Dad forwarded me this speech / essay written by Brain Eno for NPR. Since we’ve been recording vocals, I figured it would be an appropriate post:

Singing: The Key To A Long Life by Brian Eno

I love this article. I love to sing. I love singing with people. It’s not about talent or ability. It’s about intent. It’s about passion. It’s about feeling. It’s about living. I love Roy Orbison. I love Aretha Franklin. I love Darby Crash.

It’s been one hell of a year. See you in 09.
